The TERRE ASTESANE cooperative winery was founded in Mombercelli in 1901 and is the oldest in South Piedmont. Surrounded by the medioeval castle of the village, it’s located at the center of the Tiglione Valley, a region full of hills highly vocated for viticulture. Our winery is devoted to a constant improvement of the quality of its wines being Barbera d’Asti the top one. The winery has approximately 160 vintners, operating in the villages of Mombercelli, Vinchio, Agliano, Belveglio, Montaldo Scarampi, covering an area of 220 hectares of vineyards with a yearly production of 15.000 hetolitres of wine, of which 70% is Barbera d’Asti, followed by Grignolino, Cortese, Brachetto, Chardonnay, Freisa. During all the production cycle, the vineyards are kept under the supervision of specialized technicians, in order to obtain grapes of top quality that are then processed with the most technologically advanced methods. The wine is carefully produced and is refined and bottled within the premises that have a potential yearly yeald of 100.000 bottles.

The wine range, marketed under the TERRE ASTESANE trade mark, is wide and comprehensive, with four different types of Barbera d’Asti, being the base product, wine of the last vintage refined in stainless steel, the “La” Barbera d’Asti selected from the production of the last vintage but with a full body and refined in wood, the “Superiore” obtained from selected grapes originating from vineyards of more that fourty years and well exposed to the sunshine. Barbera Superiore is refined in barriques. We then have the Barbera d’Asti Superiore “Mumbersè” a super Barbera obtained from grapes especially selected and originating from old vineyards, refined in “tonneaux” (big barrels) of 500 litres and produced in the best vintages only.
