La Pieve di Vernasca
Romanesque church dedicated to St Columba (twelfth century), originally built on a basilica with three naves in the area of the Vernasca castle, which preserves the original bell tower and apse. The temple which was shot down at the beginning of the twentieth century is now used in the context of a pleasant garden square in the upper part of the land. In a former rectory side are now on display artworks and historical artifacts related to Piacenzaand the journey of pilgrimage to Rome with frescoes dating back to 1474.

Parco Dello Stirone
A few kilometers away is the River Park Stirone which is spread over an area of just over 2000 on both sides of the river of the same name by location Villa to the bridge on the Via Emilia in Fidenza. The village was founded in the Upper Middle Ages and was built in a strategic location for the control and observation of the Po Valley. The castle, which was owned by the Visconti of Piacenza, was ceded to the Scotti at the end of the fourteenth century who built most of the buildings of the village. The fort which was placed there in the late fourteenth century has a tower made of rock connected by a high crenellated parapet walk to a tower. From the tower you are able to reach the castle itself. The castle became a residence in the seventeenth century but has preserved a charming eighteenth-century theater. The parish church dedicated to St. George was built in the first half of the twelfth century and it’s in Lombard Romanesque style where inside there is a tabernacle with Gothic frescoes influences.
Castell is a beautiful medieval village situated on the hills of Val D’Arda about thirty kilometers from the capital of Piacenza and Parma little more. Developed on the left bank of the river Arda, the village is built according to the structure of the medieval villages and has undergone notable changes.The origins are not historically proven. It is assumed to be a military castrum dating back to the Roman colonization of the area. In imperial times it developed as a small rural capital, thanks to the favorable position of dominance on the road network.
